Karachi: Speculations are on the high as who would be the new governor of Sindh after Justice (r) Saeed uz Zamaan Siddiqui passed away on Wednesday evening after prolonged ailment.
He was 31st governor of Sindh who remained in power just for two months as he took oath for the governorship on 11th November 2016. He left behind a widow and a son.
Justice Zaman served as chief justice of Pakistan from July 1999 till December 2005.
The governor Sindh was suffering from chest pain, the South City Hospital confirmed his death.
Justice (r) Saeed uz Zamaan succeeded Dr Ishar ul Ibaad in November, who, while commenting on his demise, said that justice Saeed was a man of letters who spent his life with respect and dignity.
Moreover, Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani will be the acting governor of the southern province of Pakistan as the media reported. The funeral of Justice Saeed would be held tomorrow in Polo Ground Karachi.
In addition, the Sindh government is looking for the new governor and according to the BaaghiTV sources, it would go for either Senator Mushahidullah or Senator Nihal Hashmi.
